Co-presented by the Open Recorder Days Amsterdam, this afternoon celebrates the recorder in all its diversity through the finals of two international competitions. Audiences can discover four outstanding young ensembles from across Europe in the Fringe Ensemble Competition Final, alongside the final rounds of the International Recorder Competition, which attracted 99 entries from around the world. The programme showcases innovative performances, fresh artistic voices and a remarkable range of musical styles before the jury announces the winners later in the day.
Founded in 2012, the Open Recorder Days Amsterdam has grown into one of the world's leading recorder festivals, welcoming performers, teachers, instrument makers, students and audiences from across the globe. Alongside concerts, workshops and masterclasses, ORDA provides a platform for both established artists and emerging talent.
The Fringe Ensemble Competition was created to support pre-professional ensembles and encourage artistic innovation within the recorder world. Following a video selection round, four ensembles have been invited to perform in today's final before an international jury.
This event is free of charge. Reserve a ticket and discover the extraordinary versatility and beauty of the recorder.
