What does it mean to live under Israeli occupation? As the world watches, or looks away, what future do Palestinians have? Together with Nadia Moussaid, Rode Hoed is organizing a conversation about Palestine, oppression, violence and responsibility. In the new documentary Trapped in Palestine by NTR (airing Feb. 12, 8:30 p.m. on NPO2), journalist Nadia Moussaid goes to the occupied Palestinian territories. After Witnesses to Gaza and The conscience of Israel, she focuses in this documentary on the daily reality of Palestinians living under the Israeli occupation that involves a lot of violence and discrimination. The perspective of Palestinians is central. What does it mean when your life is determined by Checkpoints, illegal Jewish settlements, violence, arrests, land confiscation and a far-reaching restriction of freedom of movement?

Using excerpts from the documentary, we talk about this with Ambassador of the Palestinian Mission in The Hague Ammar Hijazi, director of Oxfam Novib Michael Servaes, political scientist Berber van der Woude, Senior Officer Human Rights Programmes at Amnesty International Floor Beuming, human rights lawyer Ahmed Abofoul and, of course, journalist and programmer Nadia Moussaid. The conversation will be led by journalist Abdou Bouzerda.
