Four times a year, with the change of seasons, the Rode Hoed hosts a young, quirky service in collaboration with singer and theater maker Ricky Koole. In the hustle and bustle of the city, you will spend an hour and a half reflecting on what matters to you. The sermon this time will be delivered by Youp van 't Hek. The choir led by conductor Maartje Meijer sings pop, soul and traditionals and there is music by top musicians. Sit back and be touched!

Ricky Koole on what moved her to these services:

"

I have regularly attended church services where there is a beautiful choir and speakers who make you think. But they always end up being about God, about faith or about finding the solution in the afterlife. Since I don't believe - or if I believe then immediately in everything - I find it difficult when a God is placed above everything else. Therefore, I do not feel called to sing along. I now put together services where non-believers can sing along to their heart's content. Even believers, in my opinion, can do that just fine.
